By the end of 2011 we plan to launch StartGoodStuff - a free, online space to take your idea from concept to a full set of plans with the help of others.

In a nutshell, StartGoodStuff will offer a (minimum) five week process to take an idea from concept through to the point where its roll-out is definitely possible.

It works like this:

  • 1 – Anyone posts an idea
  • 2 – A team is crowd-sourced
  • 3 – The team works on the project’s plans
  • 4 – The plans are reviewed by a handpicked panel
  • 5 – Project Australia provides successfully reviewed projects with up to $500 support, endorsements for immediate use and strong leads for the next phase of the project’s journey. The funding provided for successful projects will come from a social innovation fund, supported by revenue from the uThinc Speakers’ bureau and targeted public donations.

Ideas and the subsequent projects must be:

  • - Not-for-profit
  • - Actionable
  • - Making use of existing assets, where possible
  • - Addressing domestic social needs
  • - In line with Project Australia’s Charter
